Camping

Hi there! It’s been sooooo long since I’ve been back in this space – but as you can imagine – things are always so crazy for me. I’ve decided that it would be nice to come back and post here from time to time – if for nothing else – just to have some documented memories for my kids to be able to look through one day.

Speaking of memories, we took the kids camping last weekend – and I can’t tell you just how much fun it was! The weather held up beautifully – hitting the low 70s during the day, and dropping down to the upper 50s at night. PERFECT! It felt so good to wake up to that fresh spring air, with the sounds of the birds singing and the lovely sun shining down on us. My favorite part was just being with everyone. Working together to pitch our tent. Watching Tone teach the kids how to get a nice fire going – stuffing our faces with smoked salmon, huge burgers, and of course – s’mores. We did go out and buy a portable propane stove – which I used to make breakfast (pancakes and bacon) – which worked out really well. Even though our oldest couldn’t make it (he was working), we had a pretty awesome time – and the kids couldn’t stop talking about it after we left. I can’t wait for the next one!

Holiday Weekend

Holiday Weekend

This holiday weekend, at the very last minute, we decided to skip town and head down to the beach. The big boys weren’t around (Jacob was out with his friends and Justin was at his dad’s house), so it was just Tony, me, and our 3 little ones. Since we anticipated some serious traffic, we thought it would be nice (and easier) if we took the ferry. Our littles haven’t been on a boat of that size before, so this was an extra treat for them. Seriously, they couldn’t have been more thrilled! Once we arrived at the beach, we spent the entire evening barefoot, eating ice cream, and building sandcastles. We watched the sun set from our blanket and stuck around for the amazing fireworks show. (The beach is absolutely beautiful at night). And the next day, we did it all over again (minus the fireworks). All in all, it was wonderful.
